June Update

The biggest update for June was redecorating the workshop:

Woodwork shop

It took a full week to remove everything off the walls, prep the surfaces, prime and paint. Then put together the cabinets, added a couple more lights. The floor slopes quite a bit from spoon mule to lathe. So getting the work surface level was fun. Finally the windows got framed out and painted.

In other crafty news, I did some socially distanced forging with my buddy Derek. We each made a variety of hook tools for pole lathe turning. The tools are finished but we ran out of time to do any hardening. Hopefully we’ll get round to doing that soon.

Blacksmithing

Outside of fulfilling mug and spoon orders I’ve been trying to do a better job of getting some decent blog posts written and actually sticking to a upload schedule for my Youtube channel. I’ve got lots of ideas for articles and videos, and thanks to a global pandemic, I’ve got time to make them.

If there are topics you want me cover, please let me know in the comments.

Outside of woodworking, we took the canoe out for the first time this year.

And just a week ago, my wife got some chicks in the mail.
