Learn how to safely carve freshly felled wood with an axe and a knife.

The axe and knife are an iconic pair of tools. With just these two simple implements it is possible to craft a whole range of items useful around the home or campsite.

In this workshop participants will learn about selecting wood for various projects, understanding wood grain and grain direction, as well as proper techniques for using these tools safely.

Throughout the workshop, participants will apply these techniques towards making simple carved objects for use at home, or at a campsite.

No previous experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided. Just wear comfortable clothing and bring a packed lunch. Water, coffee and snacks will be provided.
